The company stated the product was manufactured by Gustibus Alimentari Srl in Assoro, Italy, imported by Botticelli, and distributed exclusively by Walmart Inc. of Bentonville, Arkansas. According to the recall notice, the action covers jars that have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. As of August 3, 2026, Boticelli Foods said no illnesses or injuries connected to the recalled lot had been reported.
The Walmart impact is spread across 19 states, but not every store was identified
The recalled Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter was distributed to Walmart retail stores in 19 states, the company confirmed. Those states are Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington, and Wyoming. Boticelli Foods said the recall was initiated after Walmart learned on July 17, 2026, that the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services had tested three jars during a routine inspection at a Walmart retail store. According to the company, that testing identified the presence of Salmonella. The recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the announcement stated.
For shoppers, the practical detail is narrow and specific: the recall applies to 6.7-ounce glass jars with UPC 194346207961, lot code LB028ACP04, and a January 28, 2027 expiration date. The company said the affected nut butter should not be consumed and said refunds are available at the place of purchase.
